Through its key initiative for 2018, Project Connect, U.S.–Japan Baseball will sponsor Japanese players to travel to the Washington, D.C. area, to practice and play with American players. As part of Project Connect, U.S.–Japan Baseball and the Rockville Baseball Association (www.rbba.org) will sponsor a travel baseball tournament to be played on August 19, 2018.
U.S.–Japan Baseball will also field a team to compete in this tournament, consisting of visiting Japanese players from Tokyo, as well as select Japanese and American players from Maryland.
•Date of Play: Sunday, August 19, 2018
•Format: 8 teams; 2 game minimum (weather permitting)
•Ages: 12U (players must not have turned 13 before May 1, 2018)
•Cost: $275 per team
•Location: Broome Athletic Park Field #s 1 and 2 (751 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, MD20851)

A portion of the proceeds from this tournament will go to benefit U.S.–Japan Baseball Exchange, Inc. (U.S.-Japan Baseball), a tax exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions and other gifts made to U.S.-Japan Baseball qualify for a tax deduction under the applicable sections of the Internal Revenue Code.
